Usher has had a tremendous year with the birth of his new baby but what is in store for USHER these days? When are we going to hear some new music from the boy? You have got to wait and see but my sources tell me that USHER is working on an album right now. Can you remember how you felt when you popped that new USHER confession in the CD player, ….. WOW [classic] ! The boy did his thing on that one.

Might I add the CONFESSION ALBUM sold more than 9-million copies. So where’s the follow-up? HERE IT COMES- Well, it’s underway, apparently. Jermaine Dupri has produced one new track called “The Realest” – which was being tipped as the record’s first single. T-Pain has also weighed in as a producer, and a track called “Dat Girl Right There” – which features Ludacris – leaked onto the internet last month. No album release date yet, but Dupri claims his pal Usher wants to get it out there – “He’s got that itch,” Jermaine says.

Lupe Fiasco is still Coooool !

December 21, 2007

Last year, Lupe Fiasco set himself apart from the rap pack with a debut full of brainy, Kanye-style positivity, including a laid-back skateboarding anthem, ”Kick, Push.” You might wonder what happened to that guy if you’ve read how his follow-up, The Cool, is a concept album about gangsta life. But in truth, only four songs address that story line — thankfully leaving the bulk of this CD to instead indulge in Fiasco’s divergent themes and musical explorations.

Solange coming out with another album….WHY?

December 14, 2007

WHY IS SHE EVEN COMING OUT WITH A SECOND ALBUM…. OH SHE HAD A FIRST?

SOLANGE recently signed to Geffen Records and plans to release her sophomore album, “Hadley Street Dreams,” in the second quarter of 2008.
Solange told Billboard.com that she is finishing the album now. Her first song more then likely will be Pharell of the NEPTUNES.

“Her record is totally bananas,” Geffen Records chairman Ron Fair tells Billboard.com. “It’s not what people would expect from her. The music is more eclectic and international. She’s in her own lane.”

Like Nas’ Greatest Hits, thisisme then highlights the best songs from Common’s early rap years. The compilation casts its net around the first five years of Common’s career. The CD comes equipped with 15 tracks from that time frame, including the classic “I Used to Love H.E.R.”
